Jean-Michel Betran-Makosso

Jean-Michel Betran-Makosso is a London-based French and Congolese researcher and political organiser specialising in human rights, security, and environmental justice. Born in the French Alps and raised in the coastal city of Pointe-Noire (Republic of Congo), he has held various research and advocacy roles for global civil society networks, international NGOs, and multilateral institutions. Currently a Senior Consultant at Shared Planet, he supports organisations in driving progressive change through justice-led social and environmental research. Jean-Michel is also an active member of the Black Liberation Movement UK and the organiser and co-facilitator of an anti-racist and anti-colonial reading group based in South-East London.
